The relative
loudness and softness of music. Music dynamics are indicated in Italian.
From soft to loud they are as follows:
- Pianissimo = very soft
- Piano = soft
- Mezzo Piano = medium soft
- Mezzo Forte = medium loud
- Forte = loud
- Fortissimo = very loud
- Crescendo = gradually getting louder
- Decrescendo = gradually getting softer (diminuendo)
