NOTES ON THE FIRST STRING

E, F, and G

As you hold the guitar, as stated in the previous secion, the first string is the string nearest the floor, is the highest sounding open string (not fretted), and the thinnest string.

For now the left hand fingers will be the same as the fret numbers, 1st finger for the first fret, 2nd finger for the 2nd fret, etc. On the right hand use rest strokes with the fingers and free stroke with the thumb.
